Thumbnail Sharing on Gaza humanitarian operations by HKRC medical volunteer Dr. Au Yiu-kai
The escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Gaza Strip has left Gaza plunging into a dire humanitarian crisis worsening day by day, with the public health system on the verge of collapse. Deployed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), veteran HKRC medical volunteer Dr. Au Yiu-kai arrived in Gaza last December to assist with emergency medical support. Upon his return, Dr. Au was cordially invited to share his experience and reflections with HKRC staff and volunteers.

The “Donor Award Ceremony 2023” was successfully held last November, with 230 honored donors and their loved ones in attendance. In addition to presenting 11 commendation awards, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Red Cross, Dr Lau Chor-chiu, GMSM, MH, JP, and Director, Ms Alice Ling, shared the latest five-year corporate strategic plan and reported on the uses of our donations.
