Highlights of “Donor Award Ceremony 2023”

In 2022/2023, the HKRC received over HK$100 million in donations from the public. Dr Lau expressed gratitude in his welcome speech, acknowledging the selfless contributions from the donors. He stated, “It is thanks to the support of the public, donors, organizations, and the government that we have been able to develop into a diversified humanitarian service platform.” Acting Senior Manager of the Local Emergency Services, Mr Brian Wong, also shared several local disaster preparedness cases, providing donors and attendees with a better understanding of the HKRC’s comprehensive local emergency services.

 

The Chairman and Director of the HKRC also used this opportunity to explain to donors the purpose of donations and share the organization's future development plans. The association attaches great importance to local disaster preparedness and relief work. This time, we invited Mr. Brian Wong, the Acting Senior Manager of the of the Local Emergency Services, to share his previous experience in responding to sudden heavy rains, flooding, and landslips, and to provide services to citizens affected by extreme situations, while sharing local disaster preparedness cases so that donors and people on the scene can better understand the HKRC’s comprehensive local emergency services.
