The Hong Kong Red Cross Donor Award Ceremony 2024 was successfully held on Saturday, 9 November 2024. The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. Jimmy H W Yuen, Deputy Chairperson of the Hong Kong Red Cross. Then Ms. Cindy Ho, Senior Resource Development Manager ,Communications & Resource Development also took this opportunity to explain to donors how their donation are being utilized.
As part of the event, Ms. Kristy Keung, Manager (Community Services) along with volunteer Joanne from the Home-based Chronic Disease Management Service for the Elderly (CDME), and beneficiaries- Kwai Ling and Cheung Sing, were invited to attend. Kwai Ling shared how the program has helped them, especially in witnessing improvements in Cheung Sing's health. Joanne shared how the service has helped others, and how she has learned a great deal herself. Seeing how her efforts and patience can help the elderly learn about health and alleviate their worries, she feels very fulfilled.
Following this was the award presentation session. Many of the attendee have been supporting the Hong Kong Red Cross for over a decade. There were many children accompanying their parents, and parents bringing their young ones on stage to receive awards, creating a heartwarming and touching scene.
