"Emotion Navigation: Preparing for Grief and Life Planning" Free seminar

Hong Kong Red Cross hosted the free seminar "Emotion Navigation: Preparing for Grief and Life Planning" on 25 October 2025, aiming to help the public cope with grief positively and plan for peace of mind.

The seminar featured Ms. Olivia Li, Hong Kong Red Cross Clinical Psychologist, who shared insights on the grief journey and the concept of “Four Important Messages.” Through real-life cases, she encouraged participants to practice saying “Thanks, Love, Sorry, and Goodbye,” helping to resolve regrets and reduce emotional barriers when facing loss.

Also joining was Ms. Ryanne Lai, Co-founder of 'ForeverGift.hk' and practising lawyer in Hong Kong, who shared and explained the 3 important documents including wills, Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA), and Advance Directive in Relation to Medical Treatment (AD). Using real-life examples, she helped participants better understand the importance of these arrangements and how to prepare effectively.

The event began with a memorable group photo, capturing the joy of gathering together. Guest speakers shared inspiring messages on preparing for grief and life planning, encouraging participants to face challenges with positivity. Grief Support Tips” were distributed during the event to provide comfort and emotional support for participants. Ms. Olivia Li, Hong Kong Red Cross Clinical Psychologist taught participants how to use the 'Wheel of Emotions' to learn how to regulate their emotions, so that they can better express themselves and understand the emotions of others. Ms. Olivia Li, Hong Kong Red Cross Clinical Psychologist, explained the concept of “Four Important Messages” through real-life cases, encouraging everyone to practice “Thanks, Love, Sorry, and Goodbye.” Ms. Ryanne Lai, Co-founder of 'ForeverGift.hk' and practising lawyer in Hong Kong, shared useful tips and real case studies on Will, Enduring Power of Attorney and Advance Directive in Relation to Medical Treatment.
